Northwoods Aviation is a professional, licensed flight school that has operated it's float plane training in beautiful Northern Michigan for more than 40 years. The Cadillac, MI area is surrounded by numerous lakes of various sizes, providing a diverse training environment. Our sea plane instructors offer years of experience with thousands of hours of sea plane instruction.

The sea plane rating is normally done in two to three days. The course consists of an average of 7 hours of flight time and 3 hours of ground instruction. We do our best to set up a check ride with the examiner at the completion of your training. All training is done 1 on 1 with a sea plane instructor. Sea planes are in operation from mid-April to the end of October. If additional training is required, standard rates apply.
